From the album “It’s All A Game” - Jon’s second
album which was released in 1974.
All the songs were  written by Jon English
with the exception of Bob Seger’s “Turn The Page” which  is about the life of a
rock singer as is “Superstar” (You Promised Me).
I find this to be  one of Jon’s most eclectic
albums: from rock songs like “Turn The Page”,  to “Just The Way I Am” which to
me has a hint of a country and western song,“Space Shanty” which is novel and humorous,
“Chained To The Middle” and “Hail All Hail To The Revolution” which cover
contemporary social and political issues. The latter is high-octane
rock!

Jon is accompanied by Baxter Funt and/or
Sebastian Hardy on these tracks according to this site.
“Turn The Page” was a huge hit back then and
has always been a big favourite of mine, especially the live version on “Beating The Boards” with The Foster Brothers.
But then there is “By
Firelight”.
A soft, evocative and romantic ballad which I
think is quite lovely and yet it seems to be somewhat out of place. Still, I am very glad it’s
there. It's part of the game.
I have to say I am especially lucky that my
friend Chris made this clip for me. This is very much
appreciated!
Chris has his own channel on You Tube and has a wonderfully creative and imaginative style of presenting, not only many songs by Jon English, for example "Six Ribbons", "She Was Real",and "Always The Busker" but many other great artists.
Definitely a must see channel!

Many thanks to Chris for doing this, not just for me but for other fans.
Many thanks to George for the photographs of this somewhat much-played LP.
